Markéta Kolářová (b. 1993) is a painter from the Czech Republic, currently living in Manila. Having studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, her artistic focus lies in capturing the essence of the female figure, with a particular interest in faces that exude sharp, piercing eyes. Through her paintings, she aims to evoke a sense of melancholy and mystery. Drawing inspiration from the rich mythology and history of the places she has traveled, including South East Asia and her art residences in New York and Miami, as well as the captivating realm of Slavic mythology, her work reflects a fusion of cultures and influences. By infusing elements of mythology and history into her art, she invites viewers to explore the depths of emotion and contemplate the enigmatic nature of existence within a broader cultural context.
